Mike Seamons is an executive producer for Microsoft Studios in the Kids and Lifestyle Entertainment group. In this capacity, Seamons has led both game and film production teams to create “Kinect Nat Geo TV,” a new kind of two-way television experience that takes you inside your favorite Nat Geo television shows and allows you to engage, interact and learn in an entirely new way. “Kinect Nat Geo TV” is filmed in conjunction with popular Nat Geo WILD TV programs and layers in exclusive, interactive game-play that encourages kids and their families to learn and become part of the experience. The first season, based “America the Wild” featuring naturalist Casey Anderson, will premier in September 2012.
Before joining Microsoft Corp. in 2008, Seamons was a founding partner in multiple startup companies focused on interactive entertainment and automation experiences. His most recent startup was Lifeware, manufacturer of software and hardware that powers commercial and residential systems across the world including the “The Innoventions Dream Home” in Tomorrowland at Disneyland.
Seamons was selected as one of the “Digital Dozen” by Digital Connect magazine in 2006 and “40 Under 40” by Dealerscope magazine in 2007 for his leadership in the consumer electronics industry. He is widely regarded as a digital entertainment specialist and has served as a guest editor for multiple industry magazines and a featured speaker at the Big Builder Conference, Kitchen/Bath Industry Show and Conference, International Consumer Electronics Show, Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association Expo, and Electronic House Expo.
Seamons holds a bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University and runs one of the largest interactive entertainment consumer research labs at home with his wife and six children.
